Setting for Collaboration
In addition to conversations with educators from Reggio Emilia, the Constructing Modern Knowledge faculty will support computationally-rich hands-on learning adventures for participants
Just as children in Reggio environments engage in reciprocal research with teachers, parents, the community, and their evolving experiences, a focus on computation creates new opportunities for reciprocity and the development of powerful ideas.
Learn with educators from around the world in one of the most inspirational, supportive, and dynamic small cities in the world.
Develop relationships to last long after the institute.
Atelieristas, pedagogistas, and other leading educators from Reggio Emilia join the Constructing Modern Knowledge team to to explore the Reggio Emilia approach, computational possibilities, and the ways to ensure childhood agency over an increasingly complex and technologically sophisticated world.

The small city of Reggio Emilia is medieval and modern, Italian and global. More than a half-century after rebuilding the community with a remarkable focus on the rights and potential of even the youngest child, Reggio Emilia continues to evolve and attract educators dedicated to making the world a better place for children. Quite simply, Reggio reminds the world of what's possible.
The region of Emilia Romagna is the epicenter of the slow food movement. The ethos of care, deliberation, and attention to detail is everywhere. Participants in our institute will luxuriate in time to break bread, form bonds, and engage in conversations to inspire years of future personal development.

The wise educators of Reggio Emilia believe that it is irresponsible to build walls between children and their world. It is the responsibility of adults to offer opportunities for children to engage constructively with modernity and use all sorts of materials, including computational ones, to construct knowledge, create, collaborate, and solve problems. While much of what children do with “technology” is passive, we seek to empower constructive uses.
