Academic Symposium
Call for Submissions: Academic Symposium The Language of Computation — Constructing Modern Knowledge in Reggio Emilia June 15–19, 2026 | Reggio Emilia, Italy

We are pleased to announce that for the first time, the Constructing Modern Knowledge institute will host an Academic Symposium alongside its signature hands-on learning experience. A limited number of short presentations will be selected from scholars, academics, and classroom educators to share their work with fellow institute participants in an intimate setting.
About the Institute
The Language of Computation brings together educators, makers, and thinkers in the birthplace of the Reggio Emilia Approach for an immersive week of learning-by-doing. The Academic Symposium is designed to complement this spirit — grounding our shared practice in research, reflection, and dialogue.
We Welcome Submissions That Address One or More of the Following Themes
- The computational future — Where is computation taking education, society, and human knowledge construction?
- Computational making — The intersections of coding, fabrication, design, and creative practice
- Project-based learning — Pedagogy, research, and real-world applications
- The Reggio Emilia Approach — Its principles, evolution, and relevance to contemporary learning environments
Proposals that connect multiple themes, or that bridge research and classroom practice, are especially encouraged.
Submission Guidelines
Please submit the following:
- Proposal (300–500 words) describing your presentation, its central argument or focus, and its relevance to one or more symposium themes
- Presenter biography (100–150 words) suitable for a conference program, including your current role or affiliation and relevant experience
Send your submission by email to sylvia@inventtolearn.com with the subject line Academic Symposium Submission. Submissions must be received no later than March 31, 2026. Applicants will be notified of acceptance decisions by April 6, 2026.
